What sessions and times are available?

Summer 2025 (year refresher)
There are two 4-week summer group sessions (Part 1 and Part 2). Families can pick one of five time slots for group sessions:
9:10am – 9:45am (closed)
10:00am – 10:35am
10:50am – 11:25am
11:40am – 12:15pm (closed)
12:30pm – 1:05pm (closed)
Thirty-five minutes allows enough time to recap or introduce fundamental information, practice, read, and/or discuss the texts without overloading students, especially during summer vacation.
Weeks:
- Mon June 16 – Thurs June 19; 3 days on zoom; 1 self-study assignment on Thursday
- Mon June 23 – Thurs June 26; 1 self-study assignment on Monday; 3 days on zoom
- Mon June 30 – Thurs July 3; 4 days on zoom
- Mon July 7 – Thurs July 10; 4 days on zoom – Book of Jonah
July 14 – July 18 – Break
- Mon July 21 – Thurs July 24; 4 days on zoom
- Mon July 28 – Thurs Aug 31; 3 days on zoom, 1 self-study assignment
- Mon Aug 4 – Thurs Aug 7; 4 days on zoom
- Mon Aug 11 – Thurs Aug 14; 4 days on zoom
On Mondays, we will focus on technical work (ex. parts of speech).
- Week 1 – Nouns/subject: overview
- Week 2 – Pronouns vs. proper nouns
- Week 3 – Verbs: overview
- Week 4 – Adjectives
- Week 5 – Sentences vs. fragments
- Week 6 – Independent and dependent clauses
- Week 7 – Compare and contrast
- Week 8 – Figurative language
Reading will include nonsense text (to help students focus on the letters, sounds, and diction), nonfiction, and fiction stories to allow time for discussion. The second half of summer reading will expand to include student book selections. This is to increase their interest and to help them reach reading goals from their library programs.
Individual sessions may be scheduled:
- Mondays – Thursdays at 2:00pm, 2:45pm, or 3:30pm
- Fridays at 10:30am, 11:15am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:15pm, and 3:00pm.
Tutor will wait up to 10 minutes for a private lesson. Session times will not be extended if you are late as it will interfere with another activity.
What is the cost?
Group sessions (up to 5 students): $40 weekly or $150 for a 4-week session
Private/individual sessions: $30 per session or $50 per 2 sessions
Please contact the tutor about the subject requested prior to booking a private session to allow tutor time to determine what may be necessary to assist your student.
